How to draw The Three Stooges ?

One of the last launched contests between National Caricature Network members was drawing The Three Stooges, Moe, Larry and Curly.

For European people, these great black and white pre-war comic movies stars are completely unknown and, even on the web, good pictures are lacking a lot.

So here are my different attempts.

The first one (above picture) was charcoal made with acrylic wih gesso added background, scanned in black and white.

The second one was only charcoal made.

I used "Pierre Noire Conté pencil "for the third attempt.

The fourth entry was only acrylic

And this is my last and definitive contribution , a Pierre noire Conté pencil 2B drawing, for that contest.

... And the winner of the contest was ... Sean Casey from Spring Hill Tennessee, one of the youngest but very talented members.

This is the winning stuff.
